PSL T20 2017 Islamabad United Squad

Will the previous champions of PSL regain their title this year as well of will they pass on to someone else? From the looks of it, it seems that the Islamabad United is doing their best to remain the defending champions of the league. Till now it seems that Islamabad United is going to give a tough fight to its opponents during the tournament. The primary reason for this are the strong players that the team has chosen to represent them.  The 16 member team is made up of foreign and local players both are which considered being the strongest in their countries. Let’s have an overview of the members of the team.

Misbahul Haq

Not only is Misbah the captain of Islamabad United but he is also the test captain for Pakistani national team. He retired from ODI cricket in 2015 after playing in the cricket world cup. He is one of the best players that Pakistan has and is known for his incredible batting skills.

Shane Watson

Shane is a former player of the Australian national team and used to be the captain of the team as well. He is a great fast bowler and a right-handed batsman.

Andre Russell

A professional cricketer coming all the way from Jamaica, he plays on an international level for West Indies and also as a Jamaican national player. He is known to be an excellent all-rounder.

Sharjeel Khan

A Pakistani cricketer, Sharjeel Khan, usually comes onto the field as the opening batsman for the team. He bagged the bronze medal for winning the Asian Games in 2010.

Mohammad Irfan

One of the tallest players in the cricket league over the world, Mohammad Irfan, plays quite swiftly. He is one of the best fast bowlers that the Pakistani team has. He plays as a first class cricketer and at an international level as well.

Samuel Badree

Coming in all the way from Trinidad, Samuel plays on an international level for West Indies. He is a leg-spin bowler with incredible technique and skills.

Mohammad Sami

Playing in all formats of the game, Mohammad Sami is the best and fastest bowler that the Pakistani team has got. He has managed to get many wickets all thanks to his bowling skills and tricks.

Khalid Latif

Another Pakistani cricketer, Khaldi is an opening batsman for the team and likes to play right-handed. He was the captain of the Pakistani side of the team who in 2004 won the U-19 World Cup.

Brad Haddin

A former cricketer, Bradley James represented Australia in all format of the game. He is one of the best players that the team had and also plays on a domestic level for list A and first class cricket.

Sam Billings

An English professional cricketer, Sam is playing as a batsman and a wicketkeeper for his team. He has excellent skills and plays domestically for Kent County Cricket Club.

Saeed Ajmal

A Pakistani cricketer, Saeed Ajmal plays as an off-spin bowler and a batsman for the team. He has played many games on a domestic level as well and has won the Twenty20 Cup in 2005.

Asif Ali

A Pakistani cricketer, Asif Ali played previously for Islamabad as well. He only has experience playing domestically other than PSL.

Rumman Raees

A first-class cricketer from Pakistan, Rumman plays for UBL. He was one of the players who got selected to play for ICC Twenty20 Cup in 2016 but could not continue to play in the tournament as he was suffering from a knee injury.

Imran Khalid

Imran Khalid has never had any international experience playing cricket but has some playing domestically. He is a first class player who played for Faisalabad.

Amad Butt

Amad is a first-class cricketer who can come in all the way from Punjab, Pakistan. He plays as a batsman and a fast bowler for his teams.

Hussain Talat

The youngster does not have much cricket experience but is considered to be an excellent left-handed batsman and a first class cricketer.

The outlook of the team looks ideal as almost all the members of the squad are professional players. The odds are high against Islamabad United this year as well, and in 2017 we will find out how they perform.
