Today Match Prediction Ireland vs Afghanistan

Scotland going to play group match of World T20 with Hong Kong cricket team on Saturday/ Scotland and Hong Kong, this has been turned into a meaningless match as far as the tournament is concerned. With two defeats from two games, Scotland and Hong Kong were knocked out of the competition on the second day itself and now, all they are playing for, is pride. What’s interesting, however, is neither team will be looking to play the game like it’s an inconsequential game. There’s a lot more at stake than a win for the team which goes on to win the encounter in the end.

Scotland, for instance, have been playing in World Cup cricket since 1999. They have played 20 games in all, across formats and quite sadly, they have won no World Cup games. They have come close to winning a few but without a win in those previous matches, the pressure will be well and truly on Preston Mommsen and his men.

Hong Kong vs Scotland Match Prediction

Hong Kong will win the toss and choose to bat first but Scotland will win the match. Hong Kong have already taken the scalp of Bangladesh in a World T20 match, having beaten them in 2014, and will be looking to go back home with what they will term as a surprise win. They have played Scotland thrice before this and are 1-2 on head to head against them.

The problem Hong Kong have faced in the tournament so far is their inability to score runs despite being a good bowling unit. In their first game against Zimbabwe, they seemed to have restricted their opponents well to begin with before they went on to score 158 in their 20 overs.

Hong Kong never looked like they were in the hunt despite some late heroics from a few of their lower-order batsmen, as they finished at 144. Against Afghanistan, Hong Kong were restricted to 116 in their 20 overs, thereby allowing their opponents to run away with an easy win. Scotland will hope they can get the balance of attack and defence right. There has been too much attacking or too little of it at different stages and they will hope to remedy that.
